Building Department
Inspectors
Laketon Township has a building inspector, an electrical inspector and a plumbing/mechanical inspector. Through cooperative agreements/contracts these same inspectors also provide inspections for the Cities of North Muskegon and Whitehall.
The inspectors can be contacted as noted below:
Building Inspector - Rod Siegel

Electrical Inspector - Tim Chorny
Mr. Chorny does not maintain any office hours, but can be reached by cell phone at 231-557-3097 to schedule any needed inspections.
Mechanical/Plumbing Inspector - Jim Shereda
Mr. Shereda does not maintain specific office hours, but can be reached by cell phone at 231-206-0755 to schedule any needed inspections.
Permits
Permits are required in Laketon Township as they are in all municipalities in the State of Michigan.
Posted below are permit applications for residential work that can be printed from your computer. The permit application will also contain a fee schedule. If you will be performing any work on commercial or industrial properties, please call Laketon Township for the correct paperwork/forms.
Contractors - please be aware that you are required to register your license with Laketon Township in order to obtain permits. There is a registration form posted below.
